the offices
Ricky Gervais or Steve Carroll?
These two versions have their differences .. . .. . ..
6 Episodes (UK and US)
Comedy Mockumentary
Slough Trading Estate and Dunder-Mifflin have hypocritical, socially awkward [regional] managers who treat their employees as either ghosts or family.
Ricky Gervais shines with his charisma and wonderful facial expressions. Also a producer for both English versions of The Office, Gervais is a man who deserves recognition as a film leader (director is a better term, but I don't know if he ever directed any works.. perhaps). Portraying David Brent of Slough Trading Estate, his character is well-described through script and actions, as with most of the other employees in the UK version.
Here's the thing about being an American and watching the original English version:: I am greatly struggling to comprehend most of the jokes. For example, what does it mean when you call a lad a 'cock?' Is he a dick or a chicken-bird? I'm not sure. For certain, there are irrelevant jokes and a couple references to celebrities of the British culture. The jokes, the characters, and the realistic bored-depressed-frustrated attitudes are carried into the US version four years later. Between both English versions, the networks aired have obvious contrasts : censorship. Oh, you, BBC. Gore, Science, News. Damn, you got it all.
I have never seen a British comedy and I sincerely did not enjoy Gervais and his co-stars ,much to my disappointment. However, it was well-structured to bring Dunder-Mifflin to life. It's as if the White House was originally a mansion and then the War of 1812 forced a rebuilding which kept the mansion aspect, but added governmental headquarters .
My first impression was Gervais' suave voice. It didn't sound heavy or chipper. He displays an ability to be immaturely adept at vocality. From squeaky noises to sets of laughter in hysteria, the boss' voice outdoes Carroll. The only other thing that I noted was that Martin Freeman costars as Jim's equivalent.
Unfortunately, this is not enough to beat::

- Michael Scott
- Dwight Schrute's quotable quotes
- Amy Adams in "Hot Girl"

- Jim's Pranks (stapler in jello!)
- More screen time of more than four people
- Jim's commentary
- Pam's script
- Attempts of feminism
- Cutest TV Couple:
- The company name, Dunder-Mifflin
- Michael Scott's hospitality with his employees
- ASSISTANT TO THE REGIONAL MANAGER
- Mindy Kaling
- The World's Best Boss

Don't abandon your past favorites. I am extremely laidback when listening to hours of R&B and some Rap from classics like Eminem, Nicki Minaj. For the past couple weeks, I've been falling asleep to Classical Music for Sobbing. Less than five minutes and I'm snoozing. But, my mornings -- it was not into the past one and a half weeks ago that I realized that my mornings weren't as great as it normally was. I slowed down my yoga activity.. the books -- not reading as often.
Two is a magic number for me:: it's all you need. Two choices, friends, sisters, favorites. I'm not worn-out from classical music, but at least, I got something to just listen to this weekend.
I'm going to close this with a little talk on --claims.--
I STOPPED playing piano. I CAN'T do my splits anymore because of my age. It is so flawed that I CANNOT EXPLAIN it.
I know only about three people who are entirely or nearly completely honest. They don't use these claims. When you blank out, you need a plan. Nowadays, I'm always panicking on math quizzes. I have never been so bombarded by a silent clock right before my eyes that's bound to explode any second. I learned that a Big Goal Needs a Plan. (How to Take People With You -- David Novak]] This week, prioritize , plan, and practice.
Long for something. This breaks the claims. Splits? Stretch and start small. Soccer? There's bound to be an appropriate age- group for you. Most claims are false. If you doubt yourself so highly, fix it. This is why there are so many folks who complain about life. I want to encourage pensive practices -- daze and think about how important your little life on earth is - how precious is it ?does it matter? Make your life lead to a death with barely any regrets. Leonardo da Vinci has a quote, "While I thought that I was learning how to live, I have been learning how to die"
In every mind, there's at least a hint of positivity (Scar may have seemed sinister, but motivation is too positive for a villain, so he has a vial of positive thought). I wonder how many generations will it take to find a generation of kids who have never seen The Lion King.

Hey, Girl! Whatcha Doin'? New Girl
The heading must have been a mistake - it should be "Who Ya Doin'?" Oh, you..
24 Eps
20 mins each
Comedy | Romance
Jessica "Jess" Day catches her six-year boyfriend cheating on her. She moves out into an apartment with three mates. The boys assist with Jess' struggle to forget her ex, while being men and doing nothing. -shrug-
I haven't seen 500 Days of Summer yet, so I have never heard Zooey Deschanel's voice. It's er, lower than expected. Deschanel portrays Jess, a quirky, freakishly honest girl. Let's face it : it's extremely common that such "freaks" are either avoided or appreciated by the do-gooders. Jess is somewhat down-to-earth. She isn't afraid to blurt out the truth or that advice that you just don't want to hear. That voice possesses Ms. Day and everyone listens to her --
So all eyes on her. Great. As the season progressed however, Jess lost her spotlight. The three men - a womanizer, a black guy, and a broken heart - open up their lives to us. Schmidt has nightly sex with Jess' one and only best friend, who's a model. Winston returns to his girl after two years and Nick, well, he's totally Jess' other half. OH, THE LOVE AND HATE! The trio are annoyed by Jess' odd habits of singing, impressions, baking desserts with sprinkles, etc. but come to terms with the fact that Jess has given them all courage to chase after love and romance. If only the show were that cutesy.
You wanna know what dominates the storyline? The little jokes and montages. This show seems to degrade a show before its time, so if I find such a show, I'll cite New Girl as a dupe. As for the thoughtful script, the casting has included several guest appearances:
This show mentions adult themes such as sex, relationships, and job roles. My sister, three years my junior, cracks up way too much at every episode, and is awaiting my appointment with Season Two because "ELAINE! (Taylor Swift)" That's gonna be mid-July, dear. I'll manage.
Taking away short-term guests and the jokes, it's a simple tale of acknowledgment.. of friends, acquaintances, and the ones you may love.

Community : Six Seasons Done!
The past few weeks marked the days after my eighth grade year. In a few more months, this little fish is going to high school as a freshman. It's too bad I'm not so hyped like I should be. Why become so hectic after weeks of reading, writing, working, etc? I'm not a control freak, so I believe that I'm gonna stand firmly on my emotions and just go with the flow .
**Shout outs to incoming freshmen of high schools and university levels!
Community.
Has it tempted me to attend a few years at a community college? I hope to take on that challenge someday.
From Day One, Community has promoted the hashtag, #SixSeasonsandaMovie . It is a great accomplishment when anybody reaches their goals, but bonus points for long-term mindsets.
13 Episodes
Produced and Re-Aired by Yahoo!
Shirley, Pierce, and Troy have left the nest , but the fun doesn't stop until the arrival of CFO, Frankie, who has banned alcohol, among a listful of items, on campus.
This season definitely forced the remaining group members to stick to similar beliefs and this proves to be beneficial for everyone's previous persona. Annie values her friends and sticks up for Chang, Britta and Subway or whatever his new salesman name is, and Abed finds himself working for the dark side (Frankie).
Originally, the comedians were Dean Palton and the gang, but minor characters, like Garrett and Leonard, get a bit more talking time. Garrett and his incestuous wedding ((blushing inside))...
Aside from the sudden appreciation of each other, Abed seems to have his spotlight this season. From several montages to being willing to be Arnold Benedict for Frankie. Unfortunate ly, everyone has seemed to easily persuade him. Hmm, people change, right?
It may be the final season, so take in the goodness that Yahoo! returns to the small screen.
The Finale kind of makes me regret watching the series. Abed, your Season Seven pitch of the characters' personalities makes everybody on the show more cliche than they were before!! But, he does bring up a point...
Grade: 7.7-8.2
I'll close with my opinion of six seasons. I think it's enough. The originality and joy of the show has diminished and I fear that the show would lose everything that it has worked up all of its viewers. A movie? I want to allude the "Veronica Mars Movie" into this, but I haven't seen anything..

Arrested Development : Season One
22 eps
Named one of the funniest shows on many lists, I'm betting that this is not due to the opening season. With zany characters and the troubling repetitive storyline of Disney channel's "this is what happens when you are being bold and risking... something" scenarios.
Family | Comedy
A man of a wealthy family finds himself taking charge of his dysfunctional family after their father is arrested. Along the way, he learns to not only care for his family, but his own son.
This season travels on a very turbulent road of humor. Not recommended to kill time - I mean, I did waste time binging on Arrested Development, but it seems to have evaded my expectations.
If you thought that adults live harsh lifestyles, it's mentally strenuous from romance and other complex emotions. As for the teenage sons and daughters (and adopted kid!) , these children are only facing a Level Two adult life. From George Michael's questionable feelings for his cousin to Anhyong's threats to newly older brother, Buster, I love watching these kids. They've become the sole reason that I'm watching Arrested Development. All are just so adorable.
In short, same conflict per set of episodes and the comedy is very unstable.
Speaking of unstable, depression, boredom, and schizophrenia come and go . At least in my case. It's peculiar that one day, you want to go up to a stranger and give them your number to daydreaming about murder, only to realize that kitchen knives are not going to pierce into the flesh so brutesquely.
Anywho, I got an opportunity to watch Asian dramas again, so I'm feeling quite accomplished.

Community Season Five
13 Episodes
Somewhat Comedic
Monday, Monday!
The typical day of shamelessness for many young students. It's hard to believe that every month has only two to four Mondays. Anyway, May is Asian-Pacific Islander Heritage month, so I am trying to finish watching a Japanese drama series , as well as the fantasy anime, Ao No Exorcist (Blue Exorcist).

Everyone who's seen Community from the pilot has shunned Seasons Two and Three. Well, good news now! Dan Harmon is back on the board and has aired the first half of the (perhaps) final sixth season. Having finished Season Five, I'm almost there and I can be proud for the study group - Annie's got her vocabulary and sass back!
Subway returns (not that brainwashed romantic). Rachel returns, only to her dismay. And finally, two people are leaving the study group??
Community has been roller-coastering its comedy content and Five isn't the apex. With a decent amount of satire and scattered pop culture references, the season picks up its story. Bonus, if you did happen to enjoy the third and fourth season, the storylines are mentioned generously.
Has anyone been DYING for a developing character? Jeff has grabbed my attention this season... as a person. So, he's the leader and has a big ego. Now, as a thirtysome, he knows what to do with his life now. Sounds great, huh? I don't know which friends are more difficult to recede from: high school or college. I've heard many folks answer , "college." Jeff faces such struggles which inspires me to think about my friends and even thinking of ways to stay connected, at least. Makes me wonder , Jeff:: why can't your group communicate? I know that that's not the main focus, but why not?
Not a whole lot of laughs , but the storylines are the series' best , thus far.
Grade:: 8.3

Community Season 3 & 4
Season 3 : 22 EpisodesSeason 4 : 13 Episodes
Oh noes, we're overdue ~ but...
May -- a month of a new start and beginning positive habits. Lately, I've been practicing music more often and... a new morning routine?? Yes, yes, that story will be told very soon. I encourage all people who live in a place where May exists and do any task that you've lazed off for a few weeks or yaps at you whenever you pass by a shelf of books realizing that it's been a month since the last finished novel of The Great Gatsby.
Now, the morning story. I don't know if it's because I'm sleeping hours earlier or it's bedtime after brushing, but my sleeping habits have descended into a meticulous schedule. So, after going to bed at about 8:30 or 9:45 P.M., it's wakey-wakey at 1 or 2:26 in the morn. Then, I sleep on the couch in a squishy comforter for two more hours and wake up again at 4:30. From there, either hygenic or musical practice or TV watching in the morning ~~ (Troy and Abed in the MORNING)
Community Season 3 ends Dan Harmon's directing streak of the Emmy award-winner. Season 4 is therefore, directed by somebody elses.
Crazy life at Greendale -- most with conspirators behind them. Jeff tries to rush his graduation.
First, 3 before 4.
Pillows or blanket forts? What a question - Season 3 takes the gang's crazy-enough? life to.. The. Next. Level. Of comedy and in-san-i-ty. Chang becomes emperor, Annie meets an Asian version of her, and Shirley is getting re-married.
Everyone is insane --- Annie, Shirley, Abed, Jeff, Troy, Pierce (jokingly), and even Britta. The dean has hushed his cross-dressing habits and guess which figure of authority has risen? The vice-dean from the AC Annex.
The references are mostly film (what is up with Abed's obsession with Die Hard?) and very 90s or 00s. So glad because I finally understand the allusions! Community at its damn finest peak. Because of Chang and his little boy army ... kiyaaaaaa
Break.. how much can a show fall with a different showrunner? Answer: a deep fall. In Season 4, the effort was either less than decent or completely out of their heads. Sure, a Hunger Games parody was great, as well as a Muppets sketch, and another documentary? Abed sure is busy in his years.
The aspect has lost the heart of the college.
It's May and my mind is so cluttered and empty at the same time.
Pillow or blanket forts? You decide , kid.

Go On
22 Episodes (axed by NBC.. sad face?)
Comedy Starring Matthew Perry, Lauren Benanti, Tyler James Williams, John Cho, and others and guest stars such as Bob Costas and Terrell Owens
Ryan King (Perry) hosts the popular sports radio show, The Ryan King Show. While he prospers into a good life of sports cars and furniture changes, he shields his emotions over his deceased wife, Janie. His boss and best friend, Steven (Cho), requires that he attend several sessions in a therapy group.
Let me just say that Matthew Perry is one of my favorite actors in comedy. From his well-known role as Chandler in Friends, he's portraying a person who is involved in the business rather than an audience member (Joey's foam finger, remember that?) Perry displays another sarcastic (and kind of
satirical) character. I can't detect sarcasm very well unless it's ridiculously obvious. So, if you can hear some sarcasm and find the humor in the content, then I'm jealous ~
This show centers about a hard-working, unemotional man who claims to have gotten over his beloved. For most, those feelings make no sense. And then comes the therapy group led by Lauren,
a woman who is considerate and seemingly uncertified (still confused by this..) In this group of a cat lady, a cussing lesbian, a Mexican grandma, a dandy-happy man, a gaming college grad, an apocalypse believer, a blind man, and a party planner, that is quite a bunch to figure out who's gonna be your favorite.
Each episode presents a problem of Ryan's and usually a [comedic] scheme from someone in the group. The sketches grow more absurd or crazier each time that you just don't want to say goodbye to these lovelies.
There were no moments of boredom as a viewer, but I grew worrisome about Ryan's love life - how is it that he finds himself ready to have sex with a younger woman who , in my eyes, just can't replace his wife? I love how Ryan sees his wife's 'ghost' and communicates with her frequently. If only everyone believed that there is the Earth and a good place up there- heaven, the afterlife, a sanctuary. Maybe then, all the gods would grant all of us egotistical bastards that everyone deserves the following:
love and or friendship.
All in all, the show displays the changed mind of Ryan King with touches of funny here and there, sprinkled with a diverse-racial cast and is perfect when you have nothing to do. You are going to mindlessly stretch the corners of your mouth at least twice, hopefully ;;
Grade: 7.4/10
This show deserved a better ending- I am interested to see what road Ryan's life will take afterward

Community Season Two
24 Episodes (including another tense, deceptive paintball game!)
Last season, the debut of Community, the study group has passed Spanish 101. In the second season, the focus class is their anthropology class taught by Professor Duncan who may or may not have been drinking lately.
New season, anything new? The group is still debating if Chang should be in the group and in the end, the season has introduced at least three candidates . It makes me wonder if everyone at Greendale knows about the group, or at least Jeff- that guy's such a hotshot.
Speaking of attention, Pierce Hawthorne and Abed gain dominant powers- I did not know that film-making in production around you is such an awe-worthy moment. I've never had the opportunity to be an extra, but for all those who have, you are lucky :) :)
You should already know that Community has quite bizarre storylines per episode. Well, guess what?
They're giving you more crazy events and less humour. Sad face.
Now this is where you must watch for the following stand-outs:
-SeƱor Chang (HINT: has strong, anxious feelings about being a potential father)
-Pierce Hawthorne (a very significant character this time - he's relatable to modern-day people because he's questioning which group to join or if he should dare to be an empressario)
-Annie Something (um... her paintball badassness?) [I don't even know how to define a badass anymore, but I
admire Annie's competitiveness)
This show is great for those days when you just don't want to sleep so soon
Gosh, I really need help with sleep nowadays. ...
Grade: 7.6
less humour... WHYYYY??
Bonus: Troy's plumbing skills are back in time for paintball!

Community Season One
25 Episodes. -19-22 mins each
Comedy
A Spanish study group at Greendale Community College. The founder, suspended lawyer,
Jeff Winger, tries to finish a degree, yet he ends up in the immature lives of his newfound friends.
Community is in its final season in 2015 , so I made it a to-do to catch up to Season Six .
The Pilot has shown the prominent capabilities of the show from a well-cast group to an opening song and Abed's many allusions .
Don't dare to watch only one episode and wait until tomorrow. It's just not right!
If you like Seasons Four through (perhaps) Eight of Friends, then you will definitely enjoy Community. In my opinion, the humor is spontaneously perfectly-timed in their lives. Who knew that paintball could be such
A tense sport??

These characters are very human-relatable. Scandalous intimacy, lying, bargaining, even going to extreme lengths to defend yourself
or to show that you're probably "not a buzzkill."
With a diverse cast of an Asian Spanish teacher, an Indian geek, a couple blacks in the group (sorry, Troy!), and the blonde, there is someone to connect with on the show.
I can't help but think of the Mane Six, humour from Friends, and Modern Family format. Community's equation right there.
Every member of the group has different personalities and there are
Three males, three females.
Simply dashing for enjoyment and humorous entertainment, Community is an
8.4
Enjoy, Darlings +~+

About a Boy Season One
Comedy (mentions adult themes, like relationships and money, frequently)
------13 Episodes - approximately 23 minutes each episode
Will Freeman lives a wealthy, free life after writing a hit Christmas song. He learns about life when a single vegan mum and her son move in next door.
This series can make you laugh. That's great for a mostly-family show. This series is on my weekend watchlist and I enjoy it no matter how many times I rewatch .
Please note that the characters are optimistically happy. A couple who appreciates the experience of parenting. The belief of happiness through hard work. It's all in one positive atmosphere.. Well, except for the fact that Marcus is the new kid and is picked on.
I think it's because of the vegan stereotype. I would love to ask that before you judge on Fiona (the vegan mum portrayed by Minnie Driver) ,
Make a vegan dish. They're all so easy - nobody's got time to cut bloody chicken :p
Each episode presents a life moral . From money to being YOU-nique, everybody has learned something. It's not 22 minutes of waste at all! At least it's better than what your counselors try to present. If only watching an episode of About A Boy was an assignment, I already have my pen out (I took notes when rewatching, lol).
Lastly, like most shows, there are a couple flaws of the show. Will is seen sleeping with women on a daily basis in the opening of the series. Marcus is curious about childbirth for his own interests. Mild cursing.
Is it slightly unrealistic? Having a somewhat-known neighbor? A bachelor who's still attracted to younger women? Having poker night? About a Boy presents life as something to learn from, all while being immature and neighbors.
Grade:: 7.5/ 10
Enjoyable at least :)

Charlie and Ross. Were they meant to be? Since Charlie had shown interest in Ross, I was a bit skeptical. I mean, only two groups of women are drawn to him: strays or average. Intellectual as a lover? Checked off.
Joey and Rachel are a broken relationship, as well. Poor Joey... I was hoping that he'd live a good life after this season. Well, maybe he did with his fictional DOOL(Days of Our Lives) character and The Joey Special.
Phoebe... the quirky, odd, funny lady. One of my favorite Friends, she has taken on life. I love all of Pheebs' spotlight moments. From changing her name [temporarily] to a lovely wedding ceremony [Gunther's there!],
Phoebe is a person that I just have to meet.
And finally, the strongest could of all of them-
Chandler and Monica. So much has occurred in their lives from
Chandeliers crazy job name to a surrogate! What's even cooler is the fact that:
On Friends, Monica says the very first line of the show ,
"There's nothing to tell!"
And Chandler closes Friends with the sarcastic remark, "Sure... where?" before a panning of an empty Geller-Bing apartment

They FINALLY used the peephole. That thing could've saved everybody from so many dilemmas. |
So many memories in 10 years. This season ascended with great episodes, but the Finale... was it aiming for realism?
It ends with a door. The show slowly closes upon us, the audience,
the sea of viewers!
One last thing:

You can never have enough Friends! |
Grade: 8/10
The Finale still bothers me, though...
